After resigning myself to the fact that Belle could never be a Therapy Dog because no well-established group accepted Rabies titres in leiu of Rabies vaccines, last week she graduated from a 6 week, rather extensive training program and became a member of Pet Prescriptions ("Pets, not Pills") Although I kind of feel like I've served my time with the elderly and infirm, I know in my heart that Belle will be most effective visiting elderly patients and facility residents. She participated in 5 years of my Mom's post-stroke rehab and paralysis and is used to living around wheelchairs and walkers and also used to being banged on the head by a paralyzed hand trying to pet her. So, we are the "regular" team for Brighton Gardens in Yorba Linda, including the lock-down Alzheimers unit. We have volunteered to help establish protocol for the first therapy team to specialize in "Brain injury Rehab" ----which is where stroke patients begin their recovery.  Happy New Year to All!

Hi...well we are praying to be able to come to AUG SEPT Camps...things are tight so I am not confident inether right now.

If you go in August this summer and need a roomate, Rosie, Bamboo and I enjoyed your company 2 Septembers ago. We're only going in August this summer though.
